These clips can be glued in your oval mirror housing of a BMW E39 M5 or E46 M3 to repair the broken ones. Use "crazyglue" and line the clips up with the missing tabs in the housing. See photos for reference. Dry-fit before fastening and verify glass, latch, wiring and trim clearance through full operation.
